From first splashes to full strokes

A four-level competency curriculum for children — no age boxes, just real skill. Every swimmer starts with an assessment class, then trains in a small group matched to their level.

The journey

Level 1 to Level 4

A 30-minute session in the water with a coach. We check comfort, floating, propulsion and breathing, then place your child.

  • Coach-led water comfort check in the shallow end
  • Floating, kicking and breath-hold baseline
  • Safe entry, exit and listening-skills observation
  • Written level recommendation shared with parents

Water confidence, breath control and safety habits. Graduates float and kick on both front and back.

  • Blowing bubbles, submerging face and relaxed floating
  • Front and back glide with light support
  • Basic kicking with a kickboard
  • Pool rules, safe entries and exits

Independence in the water: glides, unaided kicking, treading and safe entries.

  • Unassisted glides and streamlined kicking
  • Introduction to arm pulls for freestyle and backstroke
  • Treading water and deep-water confidence
  • Jumping in, turning around and returning to safety

Real strokes at 25m, deep-water skills, dives and turns.

  • Freestyle and backstroke over 25 metres
  • Breaststroke kick and timing basics
  • Sitting, kneeling and standing dives
  • Tumble-turn introduction and finishes

Four strokes, turns and endurance up to 100m — ready for squad or club swimming.

  • Butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle technique
  • 100-metre continuous swim with turns
  • Relay starts, underwater streamline and breakouts
  • Pathway to squad or competitive club swimming

An assessment class is conducted before every level placement

No child is placed by age or by guesswork. Before joining a group — and again before moving up — your swimmer completes a short assessment with Coach Bianca or Coach Chams. You receive a written snapshot of where they are and what they'll work on next.
